White collar crime is up with computers, yet these same systems can be used to develop better cases than ever before.

The Problem - Purchasing irregularities

An employee noticed an unusual purchase.

The Solution - Investigative analysis with strong systems support

Working with I/T, system data over a number of years was reconstructed.  A variety of query criteria were developed to uncover patterns for potential irregularities.  In the process, three additional vendors were uncovered with unusual purchasing activity, with total dollars in the large six figures.  The analysis and presentation of the evidence was so well documented that insurance company made a full settlement on the claim with little additional work.

Commission Underpayments

In another situation, it was suspected that commissions were being underpaid.  I developed a data base of the actual payments and then performed an analysis that searched for irregularities and omissions in the flow of payments by customer.  Going back over 5 years, this resulted in a settlement that was five times the current annual payments.
